Mostra NOI. Non erano solo canzonette

12.07.20 - 11.10.20

Finally a "widespread" exhibition that comes out of the exhibition walls, embracing and integrating the city with external itineraries that allow you to enter into the spirit and feeling, living all that you will then find in the exhibition itself. It is an innovative, rarely used proposal, that allows visitors to establish a deep relationship with the city and the important moments of a decisive historical period, not only for those who lived it, but as a permanent for everyone to better understand our current society.

3 itineraries in the city, conducted by professional guides, to better appreciate and understand the beautiful exhibition "NOI. They were not just songs"

Meeting point: Piazza Verdi, in front of Teatro Comunale

Remembering the years of the student protests, seeing the symbolic places of the clashes between police and students that led, in 1977, to the killing of Francesco Lorusso, take us into a near but now forgotten reality. From Via Zamboni, guarded in those years by tanks, we will enter through the door of Via del Carro in the former Jewish Ghetto to commemorate the assassination of prof. Marco Biagi and then we will reach piazza Maggiore. In front of the Memorial of two bloody attacks, we will talk about the bomb exploded on the Italicus train on 4 August 1974, only a few months after the bombing of the Piazza della Loggia in Brescia, and of the salughter of the Bologna station on 2 August 1980 at 10:25.
The square, a symbolic place of the expression of a Community, was filled by citizens deeply shaken by the slaughter that expressed their protest, pain and anger. The tour ends inside the exhibition where participants will be able to visit the exhibition halls with a different awareness by linking the places seen with the songs and objects on display.

Meeting point: Next to Galvani's statue, piazza Galvani

The walk takes us to the discovery of places and people who have contributed to making Bologna a UNESCO City of Music. Passing from the house of Lucio Dalla and Piazza Maggiore, home to memorable concerts with thousands of people in the Seventies and Eighties, we will reach via Orefici where we will learn about the history of the Jazz Festival, established by the Municipality in 1959. In this particular place the history of music mixes with that of famous Bolognese musicians such as Hengel Gualdi and Nardo Giardina, in a tale of dreams and hopes that alternates events of yesterday with the ones of nowadays. In the 70s and 80s, the Bolognese scene comes to life with the underground movement, which sees groups such as Skiantos and Gaznevada, Luti Chroma, The Stupid, become reference points for the new generation bands.
And then the Radio and the "pirates" radio broadcasts with the many stories to tell. Stories that have accompanied our lives since the Fifties. Few people know that the first free radio in the history of Italian communication and information was born in Bologna, broadcasting from a trailer parked on the hills.
Before reaching the exhibition venue, a quick stop in front of the University DAMS, breeding ground of the musicological research of the city.
The tour ends inside the Exhibition where participants will be able to visit the various halls with a different awareness by linking the places seen with the songs and objects on display.

Meeting point: The two Towers

The itinerary focuses on young people, on the great changes that led them to reconsider this "new segment" of society, with all its specific needs and related measures. At the end of the Fifties the first youth centers were created in Bologna and the Department of Youth was born: a youth that will increasingly emancipate itself, becoming the protagonist of much of the life of the city. We will start from the historic Kinki disco, and from the memory of some historical record shops, gathering places and of great fashion. Under the most famous "portico" of these years, the Pavaglione, we will immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the promenade with the "downtown walk" to reach the Zanarini patisserie bar, an ex-baker's boy who made his fortune by opening one of the most fashionable places in the city, capable of attracting large crowds. On the way to Palazzo Belloni, site of the exhibition, a brief stop in front of the Fonoprint, born in 1976 and where many singers from Vasco Rossi to Zucchero, from Lucio Dalla to Gianni Morandi have recorded their hits.
The tour ends inside the exhibition where participants will be able to visit the various halls with a different awareness by linking the places seen with the songs and objects on display.
